The historic Flood Mansion was the first brownstone building built west of the Mississippi River and only one of two buildings to survive the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. The elegant location, dripping with exceptional architectural history, provided the simple yet unique atmosphere for Alyson and Chris’ wedding day.
On July 20, 2011, Chris and Alyson gathered with friends and family at the Flood Mansion to celebrate their big day. Amidst colors of ivory, green and accents of plum, the bride and groom incorporated unique and quirky aspects to their wedding. As we all know, marriages come with compromises. That is why Alyson gave into Chris’ fascination with Star Wars. Throughout the wedding, Chris included Lego figurines of classic Star Wars’ characters into corsages, the escort card table and the groom’s cake.
The centerpieces were in vintage milk glass vases (from Mandy’s private collection) with monkey tails, kale, burgundy dahlia’s and broccoli hydrangea. These unusual arrangements added to the simplicity and uniqueness of the wedding.
